Hearing Aid Services
We’re with you every step of the way with your hearing aids, whether you got them from us or a different retailer. We offer hearing aid services including consultations, repairs, adjustments, and more. If you’re not currently wearing hearing aids, we’ll take you step by step through the process. Starting with a hearing evaluation and hearing aid needs assessment, we’ll help you find the right model for you and be here for you from the initial appointment and any time you need us in the future.
Pediatric Audiometry
Pediatric audiometry is a type of test used to evaluate hearing ability in patients newborn to 5 years old. The test is painless and gives our audiologist a fairly accurate assessment of hearing loss in one or both ears. If you are concerned that your child might have hearing loss, this test can tell us for sure, and then we can begin a conversation about the appropriate treatment.
Complete Hearing Care
Complete hearing care is a comprehensive treatment option that assesses a patient’s hearing care needs projected into the future. We help you select the right hearing aids for you amongst a wide range of options. Follow-up assessments, customizations, educational materials, and most maintenance costs are included in the purchase price of your hearing aids.
Custom Hearing Protection
At Ashland Audiology, we emphasize both prevention and treatment. If you are frequently around dangerous noise levels (85 dBA and above), custom earplugs are a comfortable, long-lasting solution offering much higher audio quality than typical over-the-counter earplugs or earmuffs. Talk to us today about whether custom earplugs are a good option for you.
Hearing Aid Repairs
Prior to repair, we always check over the hearing aids and perform a thorough cleaning. If this does not solve the issue, repair may be necessary. Minor repairs are done on site, usually within a few minutes. If the hearing aid is under warranty and a major repair requires returning it to the manufacturer, we can offer a loaner set of hearing aids while yours are away.
Earwax Removal
Sometimes a sudden onset of hearing loss can be caused by accumulated earwax. Hearing aid wearers and those who frequently use earplugs may have issues with wax buildup blockage. We employ a magnifying loupe with a bright light, along with instruments and suction to remove excess earwax.
Tinnitus Treatment
Tinnitus can be chronic or temporary. While there is no proven cure for chronic tinnitus, there are treatment options to help patients live better with the condition. If you are bothered by chronic tinnitus, contact us to discuss treatment.
Hearing Evaluation
At Ashland Audiology, we perform the most state-of-the-art hearing evaluations available and are able to combine different tests to get a very accurate portrait of your hearing ability. Using multiple tests to gather as much information as possible, we can find out the cause of most hearing loss and guide you to the appropriate treatment.
Tympanometry
We use tympanometry to test the middle ear function of patients of all ages, especially those who suffer from chronic middle ear infections (otitis media). This is a painless procedure that helps us to identify a perforated eardrum, middle ear fluid or wax buildup.
